We are Going Back to Ecuador!
After 3 long years, we have a team that is headed to Ecuador from June 10 th to June 20th . There was team ready to go in June 2020 when the pandemic hit, so a team hasn’t been there since 2019. I (Terry) was able to go in March 2022, to meet with the Ministry of Education (UDAI) and our school, Geovanni Calles. Cotinga Foundation is remembered and still held in high regard in Ecuador. David Meyer and I were greeted with gifts, hugs, and smiles, as we planned the best use of our time and resources during our trip. The Director of the entire region stayed for the planning. We are going to meet with Preschool teachers from 87 schools, to help with diagnosis and behavior ideas. We are going to present an Inclusion seminar for 7 teachers, who will also be joining us in all of our lessons and seminars during the week. The Director suggested canceling school for those days, to have better access to the teachers. And the kids! They have just gone back to in person school after TWO entire years.
They were SO excited to see us! All of our training in the behavior and academic areas is based on the needs of the teachers for this year. We will be taking wonderful supplies and books, so check out our Amazon Wish list if you would like to donate a few items to help.
So welcome to our 2022 Cotinga Foundation Team: Margie Clausen-Holbert, Kathleen Herrick, Terry Lancaster, Amy Manczuk, Ann Matoushek, Emma McGuire, Beth Nesbit, Eric Nesbit, Ellen Nicholl, Kathi Ritchie, Lauren Schneider. (Bob Lancaster is going as a support member.) Thank you for your ongoing support and encouragement as we prepare for this awesome trip.
